Karson's journey in calligraphy began at the tender age of six, when he mastered multiple classical scripts including regular and cursive in different styles. His formal training under Yang Nianchi, a distinguished senior calligrapher of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, laid a strong foundation in traditional techniques. Bridging ancient art with contemporary needs, Karson has expanded his practice beyond conventional boundaries – creating distinctive logos, product designs, and brand collaborations that breathe new life into calligraphy.

Passionate about transforming calligraphy's conventional image, Karson demonstrates how this age-old art form can be dynamic and relevant today. His innovative approach has earned him recognition through numerous domestic and international awards, with his works featured in prestigious exhibitions. While continuing to push creative boundaries, Karson is currently exploring Japanese calligraphy (shodo), seamlessly blending traditional elements with modern design to create fresh, contemporary expressions of this timeless art form.

Karson’s work has involved impactful collaborations with leading organizations such as the Calgary Flames, Billyard Insurance Group, a variety of local businesses, international corporations, dynamic online platforms, and vital non-profit organizations. His expertise extends to creating memorable experiences and tangible assets through captivating live calligraphy demonstrations, impactful store signage lettering, innovative promotional material design and production, and enriching Chinese calligraphy classes and workshops.
